Granton, Wisconsin (25 June 1959)
The Rev. and Mrs. Robert Witte and sons of Eau Claire spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Witte. Monday the Rev. and Mrs. Witte and their family left for Cambridge, where they will reside. The Rev. Mr. Witte, recently ordained a minister, will have charge of the Evangelical Lutheran Church there.
The Friendly Way Store, operated by Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garbisch for several years, is going out of business.
A family reunion was held Sunday at the Dan Garbisch home honoring Mr. and Mrs. Blakney of Glendale, Ariz. Those from away attending included: Mr. and Mrs. V. E. Billman, East Troy; Mr. and Mrs. Myron Tousley, River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Kmieciak, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mabie (couple missing names and messed up lines) and Arleigh Smith, Altoona.
Fidelity Camp, No. 6375, of the Royal Neighbors will hold its annual picnic this (Thursday) noon in the Granton Park.
Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Dumas, Tacoma, Wash. visited several days with relatives here. They were house guests of her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke, and left Tuesday to visit in Neenah.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmidtke, Lidgerwood, N. D., arrived Sunday for a visit with area relatives. They are house guests of his sister, Mrs. Joe Madler.
Approximately 40 relatives attended a reunion of the Schmidtke family at the Otto Schmidtke home Sunday.
Twenty members of the Homemakers club and their husbands attended the Homemakers picnic in Wildwood Park.
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Spry of Marshfield visited Saturday evening at the Lloyd Spry home.
Mr. and Mrs. Garth Freeburg and family, Eau Claire, called Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Van Kayser.
Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Poler were Sunday guests of their daughter, Mrs. Martin Reinhart, and her family in Merrillan.
Mr. and Mrs. Roman Virnig and daughter, Bakerville, visited Saturday with her mother, Mrs. Emma Chubb.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Johnson, Capron, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Nehring, Rockford, Ill., were weekend guests of Mrs. Johnson.
