A son, Landon Scott, was born to Beth and Scott Babich, Colby, on June 10, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

 

Landon weighed 6 pounds, 11.5 ounces and measured 19.5 inches at birth.

 

Grandparents are Merlin Schaefer, Colby; Sandra Lenz, Rhinelander; and Mary and Daniel Babich, Abbotsford.

 

Great-grandparents are Margaret Firnstahl and the late James Firnstahl, Arpin; Christine Schaefer and the late Werner Schaefer, Abbotsford; the late Marie and Edward Allmann; and the late Ann and Louis Babich.

Bushnell, Eric (President’s List - 1986)

Clemson University officials have announced that Eric Bushnell, son of Brian and Betty Bushnell, Neillsville, and grandson of Merle and Carol Bushnell, and Norman and Selma Geisler of Owen, made the President’s List for the 1985 fall semester. Bushnell is majoring in Computer Engineering.

The President’s List is an honor roll for students who maintain grade-point averages of 4.0 (all A’s) while carrying a full-time course load of at least 12 hours.

The 86th birthday of Louise Ellingson was celebrated at her home February 15. Among those present were her children, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ellingson of La Crose and Mr. and Mrs. Romaine Ellingson, and Beth Ann, Bobby and Billy of Madison, who returned to their homes on Sunday.

Hediger, Clara (Play Actor - 1986)

Clara Hediger, Rt. 3 Neillsville is part of the production crew for the Lakeland College theatrical presentation of Woody Allen’s farcical play “God”.

Running January 23-25, with performances at 8 p.m., the comedy switches back and forth between Athens 500 B.C., and today. Characters pop in an out of the play, from various places and time periods, each contributing his or her own peculiar slant to situation.

Lakeland College is located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Willard-Holy Family Parish (Confirmands - 1986)

Confirmation was held on Sunday, January 26, at the Holy Family Parish in Willard. The Very Rev. Joseph J. Rafacz administered the Sacrament of Confirmation. The following were confirmed; Michelle Gregorich, Robert, David, Sandy and Daniel Ortner, Jim Backus, Tamaria Suda, Tina Lamovec, Christine Tolaney, Sherry Stremikis, Jason Lamovec, Allen Heman, Michelle Volovsek, Eugene Saude, Jack Berzinski. The adult choir, with Barbara Baltus on the organ, performed. An informal reception was held at the Parish Center after mass.

Clark Co.-UW-La Crosse (Degrees - 1986)

Lisa M. Dorn, a Social Work major from Colby; and Sheri L Zerbel, an Accountancy major from Humbird were among the 523 candidates to receive degrees at the 21st annual mid-year commencement ceremonies Friday, December 21, at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. A total of 443 undergraduate and 80 graduate degrees were conferred.
