Hess, Betty L. (Marriage - 7
August 1971)
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville was the setting
Saturday, August 7, for the marriage of Miss Betty L. Hess and Ken L. Durst. The
Rev. Charles D. Brady performed the 2 p.m. ceremony. Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Rayfield Hess of Rt. 1 Fairchild, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Durst of
Neillsville.
The bride wore a white empire-waist gown of lace-appliquéd
chiffon over taffeta, styled with long, billowing sleeves and a detachable
train. Her veil was held by a rhinestone-trimmed crown. She carried a spray of
red roses and blue carnations as she was given in marriage by her father.
The bride’s sister, Barbara Armstrong, New Brighton, Minn., was her honor
attendant. Betty Hess of Fairchild was the junior bridesmaid. Both wore blue
dresses of chiffon over taffeta and carried bouquets of multi-colored mums.
The groom was attended by Art Krause as bestman. Allen Durst was his
brother’s other attendant. Guests were seated by Charles Henchen and Robert
Langreck.
A reception honoring the newlyweds was held at the Charles
Henchen home on Rt. 3 Neillsville. A dance at the Silver Dome followed the
reception.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Durst will make their home in
Neillsville.
