Wilson, Maurice D. (3 May 1936 - 31 August 2014)
Maurice D. Wilson, 78, of Unity passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at her
daughter’s home in rural Owen.
Maurice was born May 3, 1936, to Robert Dozier and Pearl Johnson in Dry Prong,
LA. She graduated from Tomah High School. Maurice was united in marriage to John
H. Blackwell. They later divorced. She was united in marriage to David Wilson
and he preceded her in death.
Maurice worked at Sealy Mattress Company for over 20 years. She also owned a
boarding house in Watertown for 10 years and later served as a healthcare
provider in Dorchester.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting Afghans, and sewing, gambling, playing games on
Facebook and was an Elvis Presley Fan.
Maurice is survived by her children, Diane (Don) Nelson of Medford, Connie
Pippin of Owen and Steve (Connie) Wilson of Baldosta, GA; five grandchildren,
Nichole (Chris) Boelk of Medford, Abby Pippin of Withee, Jennifer Pi9ppin of
Owen, David Wilson of Janesville and Derek Wilson of La Crosse; six
great-grandchildren, Austin Pippin of Medford, Riley Renderman of Owen, Peyton
Boelk of Medford and Jayce Hanson of Withee. She is further survived by her
sister, Patsy (Thomas) Flanagan of Oxford; her brother, Donald Dozier of Benton,
AR; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Robert (Alice) Dozier,
and mother and step-father, Pearl (Bullard) Marshall; her two husbands, John and
David; two brothers, Ron Dozier, and Michael Marshall; and three
great-grandchildren, Angie, Logan and Morgan Boelk.
A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at First Baptist
Church in Medford, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Brian
Wipf officiated. Internment was held at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.
